Friendship improves happiness and relieves misery by the doubling of our joy and the dividing of our grief.

Climbing Cucumbers/////
Here's the cucumbers starting to vine up the teepee made from bamboo. They are doing good so far. Soon I will have to add more string. the teepee is about 12 foot tall. The last time I did this, I had to have a ladder to pick them.

BACK HOME FROM THE OUTER BANKS
We are home and all is well. We didn't get to stay as long as we wanted, but it was fine. Everybody had a good time. Ryan and Lucas went home yesterday. I took them and spent the night and came back today. The weather at the beach was perfect, but the day after we left there, it rained six inches. When I get "caught up" a little, I will post some more pictures. Hope everyone is have a splendid week.

HELLO EVERYBODY......
I've been working extremely hard this week. My floor is almost up and ready for a new floor. That will happen after I go to the Outer Banks next week. I need a vacation. A group from my son's church will be there and I was invited.....along with Ryan and Lucas. We are all very excited to feel that cool ocean water on our feet. After painting my dining room a pale yellow, I knew my blue dishes would not look good in my hutch. I gathered all my cut glass and put it in my hutch. After I had it all arranged, I decided to add some lights because you couldn't see the glass. So that took a while, and below is the results. Click to make larger.

A TRIBUTE TO MY MOTHER......

WHEN YOU THOUGHT I WASN'T LOOKING.....
When you thought I wan't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned it was good to be kind.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things in life can be special things in life.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing, and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.
When you thought I wasn't looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you did not feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grew up.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's alright to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I needed to know to be a good and productive person when I grew up.
When you thought I wasn't looking I looked at you and wanted to say "Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."
I'm saying it now and I wish you could hear me.....maybe you can!!!!! I love you and miss you everyday!

I MADE CHEESE!!!!!!
I spent the last five days with Lisa and I made two kinds of Feta Cheese..... regular and a spreadable one with dill. Lisa has a new baby goat on her farm. She sold all of her goats about five years ago and I think she missed their company. So she has a Nanny and it kidded about a month ago. The cheese is wonderful. Here is the process in three pictures.

OFF THE HOOK......
I have been so busy I don't know if I found a rope or if I lost my horse......: -) Beside making these booties I have been taking up my kitchen floor. It is those squares and are they ever stuck tightly. Then getting the glue off the floor is hard too. The other night I walked in there barefoot and I stuck to the floor. I thought I was going to have to call 911 to get me loose. But I will get it finished someday. When I sit down to rest is when I crocheted the pink booties. I made them because they were so cute. Wish I had some little feet to put them on!

UP DATE ON ME!
My face in the mirrow
isn't wrinkled or drawn....
My house isn't dirty,
the cobwebs are gone.
My garden looks lovely
and so does my lawn.
I think I may NEVER put
my glasses back on!
Have a good week-end everyone!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE.....
Don't put all your eggs in one basket
Everyone needs a friend who is all ears.
All work and no play can make you a basket case.
Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day.
Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits.
Some body parts should be floppy/
Keep your paws off of other peoples jelly beans.
Good things come in small sugar coated packages.
The grass is always greener in someone else's basket..
To show your true colors, you have to come out of the shell.
The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.
MAY THE JOY OF THE SEASON FILL YOUR HEART
and MAY GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.......
HE IS RISEN!!!!!!!

TIRED DOG.....
An older tired-looking dog wandered into my yard. I could tell that he had a home and was well taken care of. He calmly came over to me. I gave him a few pats on his head. He then followed me into my house ...slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.
An hour later he went to the door and I let him out. The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and returned to the spot in the hall and again slept for about and hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.
Curious, I pinned a note to his collar, "I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful dog is and ask you if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap."
The next day he arrived for his nap with a different note pinned to his collar. "He lives in a home with 6 children....2 under the age of 3. He's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?"

POLICE CARS.........and KNEES
I wish I had made a picture. Yesterday morning when I stepped out my back door, there were three police cars parked in my driveway. I just about had a heart attack. I knew they were there to tell me something had happened to Gary....(my son)...but where were they? Then I decided they must be at my front door, so I walked around the house (in my PJ's) to find no one at my front door. My heart was about to jump out of my chest. Then I walked out into my back yard and I could see three policemen in my neighbors yard talking to the girl who lives there. What was going on I wanted to know, so I stayed outside until the police came back to their cars....which was about thirty minutes. Here is what the police told me. The girl had ran her car into the river and swam to the shore and then ran. I imagine when they pulled the car out they found the owner, and came to her house.(No drivers license and no insurance) The police thought they were in HER drive way. I told them they just about caused me to have a heart attack. They apologized so I turned and went in the house. Just as I did my knee popped and it took me forever to take a step. I couldn't walk. I stayed in the bed all afternoon with an ice pack and ibprofen. It is swollen really big. Today, I can walk. I went to church, but it is really sore. Maybe a pulled ligament.? Any way....that's what's going on in my world......NEVER a DULL Moment!!!!!!

Monday At The Yarn Shop!!!!!
We have a group of ladies that spend their Mondays at the yarn shop. I am one of them. We take whatever we are working on and work our little fingers off and always have to have lunch there. Most of the time we order our food but ever so often someone will bring something homemade. I make brownies more than anything. (Like I need brownies) Bur we have a good time. The little blue outfit is what I worked on today. I am finishing a hat the matches the outfit. It belongs to my sister when I get it done. She has a "reborn baby" doll that looks so real. Well, that's what is going on in my neck of the woods. I'm trying to stay active with my blog.....Hope I don't bore anyone.....my mind doesn't always know what to write about! See you again soon!

THE MIDDLE OF MARCH???????? NO WAY!!!!
I've been as busy as a bug in a rug.......Knitting and crocheting and painting my kitchen cabinets. I'm sorry to go such a long time without posting. I.ve also had several visits to the dentist with an abcess tooth and then I had six teeth pulled at one time and two new denture plates made. But I.m doing OK with that and everything else as far as I know. It's been a very mild winter here...in fact we had snow one time that barely covered the ground. I.m anxious for spring , Everyday I see it becoming a reality. I hope all my blogging friends are still on here... I will try to catch up with you in the near future......I PROMISE! Have a wonderful week-end....... (The above baby poncho is what I finished knitting a week ago. I just thought it was cute!
