What I Have Been Making......

This is a Knitted scarf or you can use it for a belt. I made it for a little girl that has just turned thirteen. Her name is Anna. There was a little yarn left over and I made her a headband to match.
And this crocheted square is called "Irish Rose". It goes to my partner for this month. Her name is Peggie and she lives in San Luis, AZ. It is prettier than it looks in the picture.

My First Knitted Sock.....

Have I told you that I am learning to knit socks? Well, here is my first one almost half done. I started at the cuff which is in the lower right hand corner and continued down to the heel and then the gussett. Now I am working in the round again towards the toe. I am knitting with The Magic Loop. This pair is for Ryan and I hope to have them finished way before Christmas because Lucas will have to have a pair too. I wish I had time to knit everyone I know a pair of socks. That is so much fun!

I took a tumble.....

Well, on Thursday, I was trying to catch my cat . I was about halfway up my basement stairs and he ran under my feet and I tumbled all the way to the bottom. The tumble didn't hurt all that much, but when I landed, I hit my head on a corner door facing. It is sharp as a knife. A knot came up just below my crown the size of a tea cup and the blood was a lot. I called my next door neighbor. He told me to call ask a nurse. I did and she said if it hadn't stopped bleeding in 20 minutes to go to the ER. Well, it had already been about 45 so I went They did a CAT scan on my head and x-rayed my lower back. Nothing was broken and no brain bleed or a concussion. I have two real nice silver staples in my head and will go back in ten days to have them removed. I'm doing O.K. but feel like I have been run over by a truck. I notice myself being more careful when I get on the stairway now. Ryan made a picture of my wound, but it's to gross to post on the internet. Maybe when it heals and if I have a "bald" spot, I will post one then....Maybe! Hope everyone's week-end has been better than mine!

Spring on top of Holston Mountain....

This spring on top of the mountain has been running all of my life and long before that, I guess. The last time we were there, the stream is a lot smaller. You can barely see it in the picture. It is about the size of a pencil. I have been hearing about wells drying up....I certainly hope this spring keeps on running!!!!

South Holston Lake.....

Here is a picture of our lake last week. The clouds were way down on the mountain. I think I posted a picture once before from this very spot. The water is very low, but not at a critical stage.

Circus Time.....

Well, I enjoyed the boys and didn't want to take them home. We went to the Shriners Circus on Saturday. I enjoyed THAT as much as they did. It's been a busy time since they left. I didn't do a thing but enjoy them while they were here. Now back to the everyday things that need to be done. Today is going to be rather warm and I have a lot that needs to be done outside. Tomorrow it"s supposed to rain. We still need rain desperately.
