Bill's Country Store......

Bill has a room in our house that he calls his country store. He says I have taken over because that is where I have my computer desk. It is in the lower level of our house. He doesn't work at collecting things any more because he can't. Above is a set of scales with the weights. I remember weighing candy on scales like this at FW Woolworth's 5 & 10 cent store.
Rawleighs Liniment. My Dad sold Rawleigh products in his later years. This is some that is still on Bill's shelf.

This clock belonged to Bill's Dad. It is an eight day clock. Bill says he can remember it when he was but a lad.

Old bottles......

Old postcards from Bristol TN and Virginia.

Country Store cont'......

The green cups and plates are the ones that used to come in oatmeal.

My Yard This Morning.....

My Grapevine.....
My Yellow Flowers. I don't know what they are, but they bloom at night and close up in the day.

My purple flowers...

and....look what the storm did yesterday. We had a hard storm about 5 o'clock PM. It blew over my Wolf River apple tree. It wasn't a strong tree because two years ago it was so heavy with apples that almost all of the limbs were broken...so I guess it has done it's last duty. I will miss my wolf rivers!

Now the task of cleaning it up!

Debbie Macomber.....

Lisa and I went to a book signing/ champagne brunch with Debbie Macomber in Knoxville. She is one of my favorite authors. I have almost all of her books and HAVE read ALL of them. The first pair of socks I knitted was out of one of her books called A Good Yarn. Lisa bought the tickets for my Mother's day present. Debbie told some funny things that her fans had written to her in e-mails. She said a man in prison sent an e-mail and said, "Will you be my woman.? I don't care that you are fat." Another one, Will you hurry and publish the last book in the Cedar Cove series, I'm 85 years old." And ...."I like your books so much, I don't even care to pay for them." She said someone ask her why her books wasn't all lovey-dovey, and she said she didn't know what that was...that she was married. She told the story about how uneducated she was and how she became a writer. She has sold one and a half million copies in seventeen different languages. I like her! The top picture is when we were leaving to see her and the second picture is Debbie Macomber and me.

Memorial Day....

The gravestones at Arlington national Cemetery graced by U.S. flags on Memorial Day.
Freedom's Colors:
by Roger W. Hancock
Red is for bravery;
blood shed in sacrifice.
Freedom came with lives the price.
White is for Liberty;
freedom's purity.
Life be free from God's decree.
Blue is for justice;
as vast as the sky.
Over freedom's land to occupy.
