I joined "Silver Sneakers."

Silver Sneakers is a fitness program offered through the YMCA. It is the nation's leading fitness program (so they say) designed for "older" adults. I go three times a week for 1 hour each session. Safe, fun and effective movements with hand held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers ball. I keep wanting to say Silver "Streakers," but that definitely isn't the right word... :) ! Bill is able to "cope" while I am gone. I make sure he is comfortable and has everything he needs at finger tip until I return. I feel better already!

Good for you Clara. I can go 3X a week to Conway Fitness Center because of the Silver Sneakers program, but do I go????? Did faithfully for awhile, don't know what happened. I mean well - you know good intentions and such!

Be Blessed.

I wonder if that is at my Y. I need to check into that. And, I am glad you are feeling better already. Sometimes it doesn't take much to get us on the right track.

Hi Clara, I've never heard of that.. How neat!!!!! I'm so glad you can get away a few hours a day... It's important for you to keep your life --as much as possible---while caring for your hubby.

Congrats. Sounds neat.
Hugs,
Betsy

Sounds wonderful, Clara. And what a great idea for you to have a nice respite from caregiving and to get fit at the same time! I got a good laugh at your idea of Silver "Streakers." I reckon that would be good exercise, too, right?

Hey Clara, I am glad you joined. that just gave me the push I needed to join Curves . Today was my second day to go and then I went to track and walked 1 1/2 miles. Maybe we will be two slim and trim seniors . Carolyn
