OLD PHONE....

If this phone could talk, I know it could tell many good stories. We bought two of them when we first got married 52 years ago. The other one was at my Mothers house (next door) and we had them hooked up so we could talk. I don't know what happened to the one she had. Mine now hangs on my den wall. It could use a good cleaning, but I like it just the same. It's a good conversation piece if nothing else. What do you think? Do you want to give me a ring? One long and two shorts!

I have one of these too. I did a post on it a couple of months ago. I must have mine in a bad location, I don't get comments about it. Just might be who comes to my house too.

What a neat old phone! Clara, when my kids were young and we lived on the farm, we had three long rings. We were on a 10 party line! We heard 4 other rings besides ours. It was like pulling teeth to get to use the phone and there was a couple of teenagers that stayed on it all the time. It used to make my husband so mad when they would not get off the line. That's how far out in the "boonies" we lived.

Cute Clara... I love that old phone. I grew up in a small town. There was an operator you had to go through in order to make a call. She would say "Number Please". I always wondered how many stories that woman heard while doing that job!!!!! ha ha...

My phone number was 213---and I can even remember my friend's numbers. Amazing how times have changed!!!!

Awe the memories!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

That is a really cool old phone, Clara. How wonderful that you held onto it and that it holds so many memories...of so many conversations. Did you mean to make a pun when you called it a "conversation" piece? ha, ha You know how I love those puns!

Clara, I would love to call you! In the olden days there would be about 6 or 7 other people listening, too! Ha. Am enjoying your blog. I'll bet we would have a lot to talk about, with so much in common.
Love,
Ruby

I'm late with comments, but I just now checked your blog. I like the phone and you told me you were going to do a post about it. Maybe we could get connected so you and I could chat like you and your Mother use to.

The last time you got so many comments was when you did the story on a bowl full of eggs. Remember?

I love it!! What a nice antique you have. We never had a phone like that one, but we did have a couple of short rings and a party line!

That's a neat, old phone.
One long and two shorts... sounds kind of like you're talking about underwear.
