MY CHERRY TREES.....

Well, it's cherry pickin' time in Tennessee......and the birds are going to get them before I do! I have tried several things to keep them away.....but it isn't working. I will pick them on Monday.
Can she bake a cherry pie, Billy Boy, Billy Boy???? I can taste it now. The trees are loaded. Last year we didn't have any because of the late freeze.

When I was a child my dad had several cherry trees. Every year we went through the same thing. We tried to get the cherries before the birds got them. One year he covered one entire tree with canvas and then the birds went up through the bottom and were trapped while they feasted on cherries. I can remember him giving us five cents for every bird we shot out of the cherry trees with a bb gun. Thanks for the memories!

WOW, they look great. Are the boys going to come and help you pick them?

Marci, the boys are in Certral America with their Mom and Dad. The cherries will be gone by the time they get back. They are going to stay in El Salvador for a few days and then fly to Honduras and then fly to the Island of Roatan. The boys are going to swim with the dolphins. I wish we had been "well enough" to go with them.

Your trees are just beautiful and totally loaded too. I used to have a huge cherry tree in the front yard but the birds got them every year, I never got even one cherry, so I only have apple trees now. Unfortunately some birds even peck holes in the apples.

Pretty cherries Clara! She can make a cherry pie quick as a cat can wink an eye, she's a young thing and cannot leave her mother.........

Now that song will be running through my head all day!
