WHAT YOU SEE WHEN YOU GO OUT MY BACKDOOR TODAY!

This came up from a seed we spit out in the yard....The watermelon isthe size of a football today. I hope it has time to get ripe before the freezing weather comes upon us. Altho I am kinda ready for that to happen.
This is called :Farewell To Summer" It is in the aster family. I always enjoy it every year.
And here is some Lantana! It just won't quit!

Wow, quite a spitter! I would love to dig into that watermelon when it gets ripe! I am so glad that you now have DSL and can add pictures. I still have problems at times, but I figure I do good with what I have to work with..lol
Love you my friend in TN...

We had some of those "Farewell to Summer" plants and they died out. I knew they were in the aster family but never knew the name.

They are all so pretty and the watermelon too!! I hope you get to eat it. It's cooler here now, in the 60's today!!

Glad you got a trip to Myrtle Beach! Sounds like fun. Sorry about all the things that happened when you came home though. When it rains it does seem to pour doesn't it? But it usually comes out in the wash! Glad the kitty is still there and you have adopted it!

Don't you just LOVE DSL! I can't imagine dial up again. Arghhh!!!

Your watermellon is wonderful. What a nice surprise.
Several years ago I had one growing in the graven in front of my house where my son and his friend had spit seeds. It didn't get very big but the boys ate it and seemed to enjoy it too.
Your flowers are beautiful.
