BILTMORE HOUSE .....ASHEVILLE, NC....MY TRIP

In 1895 George Vanderbilt created Biltmore as an escape from everyday life for his family and friends.  Today his descendents invite you to enjoy the Vanderbilt legancy on this 8.000 acre estate.   It is amazing.  It's really hard to imagine how anyone in 1895 had that much money.  If you ever get a chance you should visit Biltmore.  You won't be sorry. It is decorated for Christmas now and one room had a live Fraizer fir Christmas tree that was 35 feet tall.  The ceiling in that room was 70 feet.   You can Google it to learn more. No cameras were allowed on the inside, but I snapped a few on the outside.   As always, click to enlarge picture.

That looks like a fantatic trip, Clara. So glad you got to go. I've been to Biltmore in the summertime but never at Christmas. I bet it's unbelievable.

I live about 3 hrs from Ashville and therefore have been many, many times to the Biltmore House and each time I am more in awe than the time before. Can you imagine living in a place like that?
