I passed this on my road yesterday and thought it was pretty. One day last week it was even more ice covered. You couldn't see the fountain...it was just a big chunk of ice.
Friendship improves happiness and relieves misery by the doubling of our joy and the dividing of our grief.

Knitted North Country Baby Socks.....
I don't know why I am knitting baby socks, but they are so cute. I finished this pair while I was in Gatlinburg! I'm sure there is some little person out there that will be wearing them soon. The shoe was Lisa's when she was about two. (So that means the shoe is 44 years old) I added it to the picture to compare the size of the sock.

Back From Gatlinburg!!!!!
It's Tues night and we got home this afternoon about five o'clock. I don't know if any of you saw the weather around Knoxville this morning, but there was a huge ice storm that hit there and the surrounding counties. Between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm there were 200 wrecks in Knox County alone. Even an ambulance with a patient overturned. It was awful. We were supposed to leave our Motel this morning, but there was no way I would get on the road in a storm like that. Bill kept wanting me to start home and I kept telling him NO. We had Ryan and Lucas with us, and it was necessary to go back toward Knoxville to their home. So, I waited until the temp got up to 35 and it started raining. It was around one o'clock when we left there. Things had gotten considerably better by then, and we made it home without an accident...PTL! I will post some pictures soon !

TURKEY CRAW BEANS....
O.K. Here is Bill among the Turkey Craw Beans. They grew over eight feet tall. You almost had to have a ladder to pick them, but that beats stooping over to pick them. It is my favorite green bean of all time. We got the seed beans from my uncle who got them from his granddaddy and has saved seed beans from year to year. They are NOT a hybrid bean. I guess our bean growing days are over. Bill is not well enough now, and I cannot do it by myself. He used to spend day after day making the string for them to climb on. Notice how close the strings are! The rows would be 100 feet long! Good memories!!!!

I'M THINKING OF SPRING.....
I know it's early, but this morning I started thinking about Spring. Even tho the snow flakes are flying, I can feel the sun on my face and the damp earth on my feet. These pictures were made in my yard last year. My last can of Turkey Craw beans were eaten yesterday. The canned tomatoes are gone and just a few more jars of kraut! Come on Spring time!!!!!!

Took My Blackberry Back!!!!
The first problem I had with my Blackberry was figuring out how to turn it off! It was minus two icons therefore I never got the e-mail part working. The numbers and alphabet were so tiny, I had to have a magifying glass to see them. Now I have a Razor and it is a lot better. The only thing it won't do is shave your legs! LOL
I'm trying to get back in the groove and posting more often. Bear with me!!!!!
