Prairie Star Afghan...in Blues and Purple.....

I just finished my second Prairie Star. I gave it to my MIL in the nursing home. She loved it and cried when I gave it to her. Can you see the beige pieces? If I had it to do over, I would make them light blue. There isn't enough contrast between the white and the beige. But guess what....I'm not going to frog it!!!! (Rip it....Rip it....Rip it) LOL

I can tell the beige from the white and think that changing it would be too much blue. I think it is absolutely beautiful just the way it is!

Oh Clara, it's beautiful!!!! I'm so glad I inspired you (by sending you that picture) to make these. You are so talented. I think you should win "Mrs. Crochet Woman of the Year" award, if there were such an award!!

Is this something a rookie could make? I got through the shell/ripple with not too much trouble, and am ready for something a bit more challenging. What do you think? Is this a pattern I could find at the local yarn store?

I know this is a really old post but I was looking for this pattern (found it - yeah) and I came across your blog and this posting and just wanted to say how pretty that afghan is - you did a wonderful job ! I am sure your MIL just loved it.
