I filled my window box today with pretty pansy's. This was my Mother's favorite flower. She said they looked like little faces. I agree.

Here is a picture of the squares I sent out for March for my exchange. They went to PA. I have squares from all over the US and abroad.

Here is Lisa, Ryan and Lucas at Hilton Head SC. March, 2005. They went there on their Spring Break and just about froze to death. Can't you tell they are freezing?

Ryan and Lucas.....my two grandsons....they stayed with me last week while on their Spring Break. I love for them to be here.

This is an old mill close to my house. I just love the way it looks. It was built in the 1800"s.

This is me in New York City. Lisa (my daughter) and I went for a fun trip in June. Everybody needs to vist NY once in their lifetime.

Hello, I just started my blog. Welcome to my corner where most days you will find me cooking and crocheting. I sew when I get in the mood. Books are a favorite past time of mine also. I like to read Debbie Macomber, Nicholas Sparks, Jan Karon (The Mitford Series) . My daughter and I went to New York City this past month. It was a wonderful trip being that we saw everything there twice in four days. We think our feet will never be the same. LOL Today is my 49th wedding anniversary. We have two grown children.... a daughter and a son. My daughter has given me two precious grandsons. That is all I'm going to write today. I will be writing more as the days go by. Clara...in TN

WHERE I'M FROM........

I am from hayfield and blackberry patches, gathering eggs and selling them to my Daddy in his store. I am from a house with no bath....but a path. I am from cherry trees where I climbed and ate more than I carried home.....from digging potatoes in the rich earth. I am from skinny dipping and swinging on grape vines, two room school house, sitting on the front porch while my Mother played the guitar.....wringer washers and wash tubs. I am from playing the piano, the accordian and making playhouses in the woods....hide and seek, jumping rope and May I. From: Raleigh's Liniment, Cracker Jacks and Castor Oil.....Revival Meetings and Baptisms in the river....catalogs and feed sack skirts. From: "Pretty is only skin deep" to "Always mind your manners." I am from Methodist, Baptist, Wednesday night prayer meetings and shouting Hallaujah. I am from the Volunteer state of Tennessee with lakes and mountains, race cars, beans, cornbread and red eye gravy. We always called it "God's Country." I am from family get togethers, dinner on the ground, singing with my sisters, a Mother with a heart of gold and a Daddy with a strict hand. A grandfather who always looked to see if I had my fingernails painted and a Grandmother who could squeeze your heart out! Yes, I came from a family of seven siblings and I have told you where I came from. It was wonderful and I wouldn't change a thing if I could. Now let me tell you where I am going...."To Where The Streets Are Paved With Gold." Some days, I can hardly wait!
