THINGS ON MY REFRIGERATOR......

Blabbin' Grammy had a post the other day of the things she had on her refrigerator. I promised her I would post a picture of what I have on mine. Take a look!

I keep this chalk board on the top....I'm forever writing different things there. If I'm not feeling well, I will write "Clara's Cafe CLOSED for the day." It's fun!

This is the front. In case you cannot read what is on the paper, I will write it here. I wrote this about twenty years ago. It is all splattered and wrinkled, but still there. Maybe someday I will cross stitch the verse. It says:

THANKS!!!!

Thank God for dirty dishes.....

They have a tale to tell....

While others may go hungry,

We're eating very well.

With Home and Health and Happiness....

I shouldn't want to fuss.

For by the stack of evidence...

God's been so good to us.

Isn't that true?

Then over on the left are two little stuffed faces I made....a pig and a cat. They are old also. Then there is Ryan and Lucas. The little sign on that side has different women mopping, washing clothes, ironing and up at the top it says, "I'd rather be knitting." There's a little tiny piece of paper taped there that I got out of a fortune cookie the other day. It says: "There is a prospect of a thrilling time ahead for you."

I say "Bring it on.....I can't wait for that." LOL..... And that's what I have on my refrigerator!

What a lovely idea of a poem on your fridge! And yes, there are a lot of things that I would rather do than cook and clean, and most usually, I am doing them. Ha!
However, I do love to cook when I am in the mood for it.

WHERE I'M FROM........

I am from hayfield and blackberry patches, gathering eggs and selling them to my Daddy in his store. I am from a house with no bath....but a path. I am from cherry trees where I climbed and ate more than I carried home.....from digging potatoes in the rich earth. I am from skinny dipping and swinging on grape vines, two room school house, sitting on the front porch while my Mother played the guitar.....wringer washers and wash tubs. I am from Methodist, Baptist, Wednesday night prayer meetings and shouting Hallaujah. I am from the Volunteer state of Tennessee with lakes and mountains, race cars, beans, cornbread and red eye gravy. We always called it "God's Country." I am from family get togethers, dinner on the ground, singing with my sisters, a Mother with a heart of gold and a Daddy with a strict hand. A grandfather who always looked to see if I had my fingernails painted and a Grandmother who could squeeze your heart out! Yes, I came from a family of seven siblings and I have told you where I came from. It was wonderful and I wouldn't change a thing if I could. Now let me tell you where I am going...."To Where The Streets Are Paved With Gold." Some days, I can hardly wait!
