This is a remarkable memoir of a dysfunctional family written by one of the daughters. The Walls children learned to take care of themselves. they fed, clothed, and protected one another, and eventually found their way to New York. Their parents followed them, choosing to remain homeless even as their children prospered. This is based on a true story. Once you start reading it, it is hard to put aside until you read the last word!

Did you read her book Half Broke Horses? I think it was in the fiction section yet based on fact...if I remember correctly.
